Course Overview

ABOUT THIS COURSE

This course introduces students to Reallusion Character Creator 5 (CC5), teaching the creation, customization, and optimization of 3D characters. Students will learn professional workflows to design digital humans for animation, games, and interactive media.

By the end of the course, students will complete a capstone project, earn mini-certifications for each unit, and receive the Character Creator 5 Certified Digital Artist certification.

COURSE GOAL

Students will learn to design, customize, and optimize digital characters using Reallusion’s Character Creator 5, integrating professional pipelines and preparing assets for animation and game engines.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of this course, students will be able to:

1. Navigate the CC5 interface efficiently.
2. Create, customize, and modify 3D characters using morphs, textures, and shaders.
3. Design clothing and accessories with layered clothing and mesh editing.
4. Rig characters with AccuRIG for animation-ready pipelines.
5. Import, export, and optimize characters for various platforms.
6. Produce a fully-realized 3D character as a capstone project.
